A story of intrigue and family gathering. A young couple, Malcolm and Tesse Davis, gets married and have no plans but to raise their two girls in a decent community along the Tennessee River close to the town of Paris. Everything is normal in their neighborhood until a close friend, Tobias Hicks, takes a vacation in Paris, France, where his lookalike is murdered just a few days before he is to be married. The resemblance to the dead man is such that he could pass for his identical twin brother, not knowing who or why the man murdered has switched billfolds with Tobias is a challenge. Things get complicated when Malcolm puts a crew to work digging a canal across Tobias' land without a signed contract and he doesn't know if the owner is dead or alive. Malcolm's daughters realize that a man is staying at Tobias' house with the new wife of Tobias. But is this the real Tobias of the fake? Maybe the dead man is the real husband and the real Tobias, but who can tell? Fingerprints are the only way to tell who the real Tobias is. But try to find a way to prove one way or another takes a set of fingerprints; but the dead man has been buried, or has he? Was he the real Tobias or NOT?
