Library 3.0 is the result of integration of web 3.0 technologies into the library and information services. It refers to libraries using technologies such as the semantic web, cloud computing, mobile devices and re-envisioning our use of established technologies such as federated search to facilitate user-generated content and collaboration to promote and make library collections accessible.

Ravi Kumar Merugu (Ph.D.) is presently serving as Senior Library and Information Assistant in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, Telangana. He has done M.Com., MLISc, M.Phil., qualified UGC-NET and Ph.D. He has more than 12 years of professional experience in library and information field. He organized a stat level workshop for library professionals in 2011 which had ‘Implementation of Library and Automation with Open Source Software’ as its theme. He was instrumental in automating library operations of various government and private colleges as a Consultant which got him recognition and accolades for his work. He has two books to his credit and has also presented many papers in national and international journals of repute. He has also participated in numerous national and international workshops, conferences, refresher and short term courses in the field of library and information science. His main area of interest is library automation, RFID technology, digitization and mobile based eLibrary system. Nasirudheen T. (Ph.D.) is presently working as Junior Librarian, University of Calicut, Kerala. He did his MLISc and Ph.D. in library and information science from University of Calicut. In addition to library science, he has done MBA from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi and has a Diploma in Cyber Law from Asian School of Cyber Laws, Mumbai. He has been serving as subject expert for the e-content preparation of library and information science for CEC (Consortium for Information Communication) project, an inter-university centre of UGC, Delhi. He has written many books in LIS and presented papers in many national and international seminars and conferences.
