After over a year in the making, "The Civil War Canteen - Third Edition" is finally completed. Some of the canteens used in the first and second editions are included but those editions do not compare to this latest edition. Although there is an added cost for color printing when done in the U.S., I still felt that this edition should be published in full color. With the new technology of colorization, it really brings to life many of the period photographs used in the book as well as the artwork done on the canteens by soldiers and veterans. In this 145-page full-color book, there are over 230 canteens accompanied by 175 photographs of canteen-related artifacts, soldiers and Civil War battlefields. In addition to the Union and Confederate examples, there are Revolutionary War, Militia, Medical, Filter, flasks, and Reunion canteens. A full index serves as a great tool for research.
